2017 became our busiest year on record for weddings and sent the team on over 100 flights across Europe. Italy held its fashionable pull and six of our wonderful couples chose this amazing part of the world, including three in Tuscany, one in Puglia, one in Capri and one in Sicily.
We kicked off the wedding season with the team splitting for two weddings in Tuscany and Florence over the same weekend in July. Two very different weddings both set in the beauty of the Tuscan Hills. With floral arches adorned with thousands of roses and rustic table-scapes in the perfect setting in a private villa in Florence, guests were surrounded by romantic festoon lighting while they dined under the stars to celebrate the marriage of the bride and groom.
Come September we found ourselves back in Florence for another two-day wedding extravaganza. Kicking off the welcome party at the infamous Four Seasons, Florence. Guests enjoyed a beautiful authentically rustic Italian dinner, with tables full of herbs and lemons and late-night dancing, to really get them into the spirit for wedding celebrations at a private villa the following day. A large glass marquee with festoon lighting was erected to accommodate the 250 guests, they enjoyed a delicious four course dinner with a live band and DJ with dancing until late.
Less than a week later, we were back in Puglia, producing our fourth wedding at the beautiful 14th Century Masseria San Domenico. A three-day extravaganza with a live Italian food stations and amazing entertainment across the 3 days. After the couple wed in an open-air ceremony, the car-mad bride and groom drove away into the sunset in a red 1989 Ferrari Testarossa, whilst guests enjoyed a beautiful reception followed by a wedding dinner under a sky full of candle lit lanterns.
Our fifth wedding of the season took us to Capri Palace, where florist Rob Van Helden flew over with his team, to work his magic for the special bride and groom. The wedding celebrations started with an Aghd ceremony of a Persian celebration on the rooftop of Capri Palace. The following day the couple were married in an idyllic local church where 24 musicians played through the streets of Capri to escort guests back up to the palace for a four-course wedding dinner.
Our final wedding of the season went out with a bang. Our lovely couple took the Verdura Resort in Sicily exclusively for an entire week of celebrations. After three nights of pre-wedding parties in various locations around the resort, the bride and groom married in an exquisite Catholic church in the Sicilian Hills, where their baby daughter was also baptized. After the ceremony, the guests were transported further up into the hills, to a secluded 16th century abbey, which was completely transformed into a magical setting for the wedding reception. All 300 guests dined at one long 75m long table, which was adorned with hundreds of candles and beautiful flowers. The bride and groom entered in to a room which was alight with sparklers being waved by their delighted guests, before being guided to the secret outdoor cinema that we created in one of the cloisters where an emotional wedding video created by the ushers was shown. Later on, a secret nightclub was revealed, allowing guests to party as they wish, until early into the next morning.
