On Friday 15th November we produced the 11th 8Rocks charity gala dinner at Battersea Evolution. Over the past 10 years 8 Rocks has raised over 5 and a half million for Dallaglio RugbyWorks and is continuing to raise substantial funds for the work they are doing with young people outside mainstream education. We are delighted to have worked closely with Dallaglio Works for the past 6 years and creatively design and produce this high-end charity fundraiser.

This year we transported the guests from the city of lights in Tokyo to dining in the streets of Cuba where we had a fabulous line up of music and entertainment including the professional dancers from Strictly Come Dancing and an authentic Cuban guitarist greeting guests on arrival. All the way from the USA we had the 80’s hit sensation, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, to perform their mix of disco from the Caribbean & South America, led by the Kid, August Darnell. Following the big band, The Cuban Brothers played out the night before heading back into the Havana Club where guests were treated to a DJ set by the one and only Mr Seb Fontaine.

8Rocks 2019 was based around the vibe of the Havana street life.  We used vibrant and exciting colours to create a sultry Havana style party with a vintage Cuban bar, press wall made out of colourful palm leaves and foliage, eclectic furniture with peacock chairs and a multi-coloured dancefloor with 6ft letters in lights. Guests enjoyed dinner under a ceiling in fiesta style ‘Papel Pidaco’ and festoon, dining on long tables filled with ornate pattern tiles, pineapple, spider and cactus plants, tea lights and limes. The stage set was created as a 3D artist drawing of the traditional Cuban houses lit in pastel shades with real life plants and floral decorative effects planted in the balustrades. The evening was a huge success, raising substantial funds for the Dallaglio RugbyWorks.
